Lot Essay

cf. M. Sheridan, The Furniture of Poul Kjaerholm: Catalogue Raisonné, New York, 2007, pp. 85, 124-125 for examples of the model.
These stools come from one of the few interiors designed by Ward Bennett. They were specifically chosen by Bennett for their formal qualities which complemented his own furnishings designed for the Fifth Avenue Apartment in 1979, but also for their functional flexibility as folding stools which could be easily re-positioned for use as transitional seating during entertaining.
