2 of 2:
The case back is engraved with an image of the two spaceships docking and the names of the three US astronauts, Stafford, Brand, and Slayton, and the two Soviet cosmonauts in Cyrillic letters, Leonov and Kubasov. The outer diameter of the case back is engraved "The first international spaceflight - Apollo/Soyuz - July 17, 1975"
The Apollo Soyuz Test Project was the first time that spacecraft built by different nations had docked and signalled an era of cooperation in space which would lead to the efforts to build a permanently occupied space station. The mission also marked the end of an era - it was the final flight of the Apollo spacecraft.
Both the Soyuz and Apollo crews were equipped with OMEGA Speedmaster Professional wristwatches.
