Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch black dial and diamond numerals in 1995 and its subsequent sale on September 19 of the same year. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated October 5, 1995, wooden presentation box, leather envelope, additional hard back, tie tag, white gold setting pin, additional leather presentation box, two pouches, product literature and outer packaging.

Fresh to the market from a private collector this present example is a trophy modern timepiece for discerning collectors. The rarity of the black dial and diamond numerals adds sophitication and warmth to the watch and makes a perfect day or evening wear accompaniment.

Reference 3970 was in production from 1986 until 2004.

The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 305.
