The present owner acquired this work in 1996 from Ms. Gitanjali Dhingra. Ms. Dhingra's father, Mr. Baldoon Dhingra was an art historian, writer and poet, who was a resident of Paris from the 1940s -1960s while serving as an Indian delegate to UNESCO. He was an ardent collector and likely acquired this work on one of their many trips back to India.
Thence by descent
