annotated 'This print was made in 1928 on Kodak's Illustrator's Special paper. I recently went into The Camera Shop in Hanover, N.H. to order a gross of this paper. The manager said to me: "You are just about thirty years too late. Kodak ceased making it then." Paul Strand used to complain to me that as soon as he found a paper he liked, it went off the market. Ralph Steiner, Stratford Hill, Vt., 4.45 a.m. and cold, September 13, '77' in pencil (on the reverse of the flush-mount)
