Lot Essay

The present watch is numbered 160 of a limited edition of 500 pieces.

The Reverso model, launched in 1931, is one of the world longest-running watch model. Essentially unchanged for more than 60 years, the Reverso continues to flourish both as a modern timepiece and as one of the few original Art Deco objects still in use.

The Retrograde Chronograph model was launched in 1996 in a limited edition of 500 pink gold examples only. Its realization took nearly two years and its complexity obliged Jaeger-LeCoultre to use a double dial: one side for the usual time, date and power reserve indication, the other for the chronograph and register functions.
