This work will be included in the forthcoming Auguste Rodin catalogue critique de l'oeuvre sculpté currently being prepared by the Comité Auguste Rodin at Galerie Brame et Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2003-311B.

Main gauche No. 35, petit modèle is one of Rodin's few studies of the female hand. It is likely a study for the left hand of the female figure in his sculpture Baiser (see lot 360), which gracefully wraps around her partner's neck.
