DESIGNED AS A SERIES OF OVAL AND CUSHION-SHAPED RUBIES WEIGHING A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 43.28 CARATS, FLANKED BY SMALLER OVAL-SHAPED RUBIES WEIGHING A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 13.14 CARATS, SPACED BY OVAL-SHAPED DIAMONDS, MOUNTED IN 18K WHITE AND YELLOW GOLD, 42.0 CM LONG

ACCOMPANIED BY REPORT NO. 12097099/1 TO 63 DATED 19 SEPTEMBER 2012 FROM THE GüBELIN GEMMOLOGICAL LABORATORY STATING THAT THE TWENTY-ONE RUBIES WEIGHING 43.28 CARAT TOTAL ARE OF BURMA (MYANMAR) ORIGIN, WITH NO INDICATIONS OF HEATING AND A RANDOM SELECTION IN EXCESS OF 90 OF THE FORTY-TWO SMALLER RUBIES WEIGHING 13.14 CARAT TOTAL ARE OF BURMA (MYANMAR) ORIGIN; ALSO ACCOMPANIED BY A NOTE STATING THAT BURMA HAS LONG BEEN RECOGNISED AS THE LOCALITY ASSOCIATED WITH THE MOST DESIRABLE RUBIES IN THE WORLD. WITHIN BURMA (NOW MYANMAR), THE MOST FAMED REGION IS THE MOGOK VALLEY, OR MOGOK STONE TRACT, IN THE KATHA DISTRICT, NORTH EAST OF MANDALAY. THESE MOGOK-TYPE RUBIES TYPICALLY POSSESS A RED BODY COLOUR AND RED UV-FLUORESCENCE. IN ADDITION, THEY MAY CONTAIN TINY AMOUNTS OF LIGHT-SCATTERING RUTILE SILK AND A SWIRL-LIKE GROWTH PATTERN. IT IS THIS COMBINATION OF FEATURES WHICH GIVES THESE RUBIES THEIR CHARACTERISTIC APPEARANCE. THE NATURAL RUBIES DESCRIBED IN THE LAB REPORT POSSESS THE PROPERTIES OF BURMESE RUBIES FROM THE AREAS DESCRIBED ABOVE
