THE FORMATION OF SUCH QUALITY REQUIRES A LONG WEATHERING PROCESS: THE ROUGH MUST BE FLUSHED INTO THE RIVER VALLEY AND MOLDED BY THE CONTINUOUS IMPACT OF FLOWING WATER. BURMESE JADEITE IS WELL-KNOWN FOR ITS FINE TEXTURE, STRONG DISPERSION OF LIGHT, EXCEPTIONAL TRANSLUCENCY AND A LURING LUSTER. HOWEVER, THROUGHOUT THE YEARS THE RECENT OUTPUT OF BURMESE JADEITE HAS REDUCED SHARPLY DUE TO OVER-EXPLOITATION.
