Carved as a Buddhist lion with two cubs, the stone primarily of deep turquoise green colour with deep blue striations
5 in. (12.7 cm.) wide, wood stand
Provenance
Spink & Son, Ltd., 4 January 1929, from where purchased by Henry, Viscount Lascelles and presumably by gift to
H.R.H. The Princess Mary, Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood (1897-1965) and by descent at Harewood House, Yorkshire.
Sale Room Notice
In addition to the printed provenance, the present lot was purchased from Spink & Son Ltd. on 4 January 1929 by Henry, Viscount Lascelles and is described as Azurite.
