Reference 5131 was produced in two different case materials with two different cloisonné enamel dials. The yellow gold version displays the Americas, Europe and Africa, while the white gold version, such as the present example, displays Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
A detailed count reveals that only four other examples in white gold are known to have appeared at auction to date.
Reference 5131 is today discontinued and no longer listed in Patek Philippe's catalogues.
