Lot Essay

US$90,000-120,000

With Patek Philippe undated Certificate of Origin, setting pin, additional case back, leather wallet, instruction manual, product literature, fitted slip case, presentation box and outer packaging.

Reference 5970 was introduced to the market at the Basel Fair in April 2005 and replaced the celebrated reference 3970. The model immediately enjoyed enormous popularity amongst collectors and was available in white gold or pink gold only until 2007 when the production of these two versions ceased. Reference 5970 in yellow gold, such as the present lot, was in production only in 2008.

Few complicated wristwatches, not just by Patek Philippe, do so wonderfully combine a classic, nearly vintage look with the advantage of being contemporary and consequently so wonderful practical for daily wear.

The present example is in overall excellent condition.
