Lot Essay

The reference 6538 is one of the most iconic vintage Rolex wristwatches available. Affectionately known as the James Bond due to its appearance in the in the 007 movie Dr. No. The watch made its first appearance when Agent Bond checks his Submariner to time the explosion of a bomb he has planted.

The present watch is a highly attractive example with a rare Tiffany & Co. only signature.
