Reference 2424 was produced starting in 1946 until the early 1950's. The model is distinguished by its unusual flame-shaped lugs. Also nicknamed amongst collectors "the flame", an obvious choice given the shape of its lugs. Ref. 2424 is probably Patek Philippe's most eye-catching design ever chosen for a square model. The present watch is one of 7 known examples in pink gold; moreover, it is the only one known featuring the retailer's signature on the dial. Freccero was Patek Philippe's retailer in Montevideo, Urugay.
