Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1953 and its subsequent sale on June 9th of the following year.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.

Reference 2442 was introduced in 1948, and was in production until approximately 1960. No more than two hundred watches were made in total in this reference, the majority of which were made in yellow gold. An estimated 60 total were produced in pink gold.
