Lot Essay

Ayrton was inspired by the story of the archetypal craftsman Daedalus, father of Icarus who made his wings and maker of the labyrinth that imprisoned the Minotaur. He could relate to Daedalus who was also a sculptor and became obsessed with the myth of Icarus, as if he was his own son.
