Lot Essay

Umbo has affixed a portrait of himself and his sister on a postcard depicting Berlin by night (the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche). The stamped postcard-collage was sent to artist Paul Citroen, then living in Amsterdam (see lot 46).
