Lot Essay

Linda Fiorentino is an American actress best known for her roles in the films Vision Quest, Men in Black, After Hours, Dogma, Where the Money Is and The Last Seduction. For her performance in The Last Seduction she won Best Actress awards from the New York Film Critics Circle, the London Film Critics Circle and Independent Spirit Award. She was also nominated for a BAFTA Best Actress Film Award.
Linda began collecting works by American and European photographers in the late 1980s (see lots 180, 223-224 & 279). Her first acquisition was the present lot, Tina on the Azotea, which she purchased at Christie's after reading Modotti's biography A Fragile Life.
