CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, BLUE PAINTER'S MARK TO FOOTRIM, DREHER'S X MARK NEAR FOOTRIM
Of globular form with a straight spout, the domed cover with a button finial, painted by J.E. Stadler, in underglaze-blue, enamels and gilding with two Oriental figures in fighting pose, each holding a weapon and a parasol, one standing above the other on a flowering branch, the reverse with a branch of indianische Blumen, the cover with further flower-sprays and an insect within a border of blue-edged iron-red and gilt flowerheads (teapot with restoration to spout and upper rim, cover with restoration to rim and finial)
