This watch is part of a limited edition of 8 pieces only and was produced to commemorate the opening of its new boutique in London. It is furthermore in pristine condition and for the first time offered at Auction.
Harry Winston Westminster Tourbillon incorporates two of the most complicated horological mechanism, including tourbillon and minute repeating which captures the sounds of the Palace of Westminster chimes. With high horology models as such, it is not a surprise that Harry Winston will offer something more than just a classic tourbillon. The flying tourbillon carriage appears to be floating above the plates, making the watch a collector's treasure in today's market. The pink gold case, which guarantees excellent sound transmission, comprises a highly sophisticated mechanism. It serves as a resonance chamber for the four cathedral gongs that reproduce the four notes in the tune of the Westminster Chimes. The cathedral gongs are fixed around the movement and welded to the gong heels. One of them is directly in contact with the sapphire crystal at 9 o'clock to ensure that the tunes are amplified. When the repeating mechanism is activated, the four cathedral gongs will resemble the chime of the bells of the Palace of Westminster.
