Lot Essay

'I suppose what I'm really doing - taking body parts from the painting in the Gallery and kind of putting them back together again - is not unlike what happened to saints' bodies in the past. After all, saints got dug up, and different churches took bits of them away, exhibited them and made them into reliquaries'
