The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is dedicated to the artistic legacy of O'Keeffe, her life, American Modernism and public engagement. In the sixteen years since the Museum was founded, it has established an international reputation as the definitive place to see the artwork of O'Keeffe and taken the leading role in the interpretation and preservation of her artwork. The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum Research Center sponsors advanced research on a range of topics relating to American Modernism, in the fields of art, architecture and design, literature, music and photography. The Museum also maintains O'Keeffe's homes and studios at Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch. Abiquiu is available to tour by appointment, offering unique insight into her life and aesthetic.
The Museum's collection of over 3,000 works includes 1,149 O'Keeffe paintings, drawings, and sculptures that date from 1901 to 1984, making it the largest single repository of O'Keeffe's work in the world. The collections also include fine art photography, archival materials, and her personal property, including her art materials.
Christie's is honored to present the following selection of photographs from the Museum's collection. Proceeds from the sale of these items will support acquisitions to strengthen and enhance the Museum's collections.
