Lot Essay

The Blancpain Tourbillon Quattro wristwatch was unveiled in 2001 following the purchase of Blancpain by the Swatch Group in 2000. This limited production timepiece with 432 parts contains four complications: tourbillon regulator, perpetual calendar, flyback split-seconds chronograph.

The Blancpain firm was founded in 1735 in Villeret by Jehan-Jaques. He was a watchmaker known for innovated watch movements. Jehan Jacques sought to produce only the highest quality movements. Today the attention to detail and complexity is exemplified by the Tourbillon Quattro. Jacques' legacy continues in the decision by Blancpain to never produce a quartz movement.
