Lot Essay

Dated 1965, the present lot is one of the first "zaagsneden" (saw cuts) from the artist. This technique of white painted reliefs is only 'interrupted' by minimal incisions that became iconic for the oeuvre of the artist.

According to the artist's instructions, the work can be installed in two ways: it is possible to install the work like it is illustrated in this catalogue or rotated 90 degrees.
