A LARGE VICTORIAN SILVER-GILT SINGLE-STRUCK QUEEN'S PATTERN DESSERT SERVICE CONTAINED IN A FIVE-LAYER FITTED WALNUT CANTEEN
MARK OF ROBERTS & SLATER, SHEFFIELD, 1858
Each piece crested and comprising:- 12 table spoons, 18 dessert spoons, 18 fruit knives, 18 fruit forks, 6 nut picks (with silver-gilt handles and plated picks), 6 condiment spoons and 6 plated nut-cracks, also a pair of plated grape scissors, the spoons with "berried" bowls, fruit knives and forks engraved with fruit and vine leaves/grape clusters respectively, box lined in dark blue velvet, the box bound with silvered straps and a silvered escutcheon to cover, engraved with crest within buckle and strap cartouche
Weighable silver (all spoons only) 60 oz. (1860 gm.)
