Van de Venne painted several pictures depicting the Dutch saying 'Wat maakt men al voor geld, zei de boer en hij zag de aap op het venster zitten': 'What one does for money, the farmer said and he saw the monkey in the window sill', such as the one dated 1625 in the Szépmüvészeti Museum, Budapest.
