Lot Essay

The present work is a costume design for La Princess Cygne, a ballet based on Pushkin's The Tale of Tsar Sultan, which was presented at the Théatre National de l'Opera Comique in Paris in 1932. The ballet was produced by Bronislava Nijinska with music composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for the opera by the same name.
