A COLOURED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND 'STARLIGHT' PENDENT NECKLACE, BY WILLIAM GOLDBERG
The pear-shaped diamond weighing approximately 90.80 carats, the openwork gallery accented by a series of pear-shaped pink diamond flowerheads, suspended from a three-strand brilliant and baguette-cut diamond neckchain, joined by pavé-set brilliant-cut diamond hoops, enhanced by a rectangular-shaped yellow diamond and square-shaped diamond spacer, mounted in platinum and 18k rose gold (neckchain detachable to form two bracelets), necklace 84.0 cm long, bracelet 17.2 cm long, in blue leather William Goldberg case
Signed William Goldberg, No. N1360 Accompanied by a monograph and report no. 2145977638 dated 4 September 2012 from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the 90.80 carat diamond is W to X range, light brown colour, VS2 clarity, with excellent polish and symmetry
Also accompanied by a supplemental letter from the Gemological Institute of America stating the 90.80 carat diamond has been determined to be type IIa. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure type of diamond and often have exceptional optical transparency. Type IIa diamonds were first identified as originating from India (particularly from the Golconda region) but have since been recovered in all major diamond-producing regions of the world. Among famous gem diamonds, the 530.20 carat Cullinan and the 105.60 carat Koh-i-noor, are examples of Type IIa
