engraving, circa 1540-1550, with an indistinct Circle watermark, a good but slightly later impression of this rare print, first state (of two, according to Bartsch; of four, according to Nagler), trimmed to or just into the subject, several skilfully repaired paper splits and short tears at the sheet edges, the outer tip of the lower right corner made up, a few surface abrasions, and other, minor defects
