etching with drypoint and engraving, circa 1649, watermark Strasbourg Lily with Initials 4WR (cf. Hinterding B.b.a) with countermark IHS with the 'S' reversed and Initials RC (cf. Hinterding B.d), a good impression of second, final state, before Captain Baillie's re-work, trimmed to or just inside the platemark, a soft vertical crease only visible on the reverse, skilfull repairs at the sheet edges, some pale foxing, generally in good condition
