Lot Essay

Rolex watches have a long history in the Middle East, and on occasion special dials were printed with a coat of arms or flag to be presented as a gift in recognition of an achievement.

The recipients of such watches often were high-ranking officials, ambassadors, heads of state, as well as distinguished members of the armed forces.

The present watch features a dial with the Emblem of the United Arab Emirates military, which consists of a golden falcon, the UAE flag, and seven stars representing the federation of seven emirates.
