Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with diamond hour markers in 1956 and its subsequent sale on March 2nd of the following year. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe presentation box and outer packaging.

Reference 2551 was produced from 1954 until 1960 in yellow and pink gold, and more rarely in white gold and platinum. It was the second reference, after the reference 2526, to use the caliber 12-600 AT. According to our research, the present watch is one of five known referenec 2551 examples in platinum to come to the auction market.
