Lot Essay

Karlin Uretsky was a photography teacher at Elizabeth Irwin High School in New York City's west village for 29 years. He taught the children of a number of well-known artists, including Amy Arbus. This small print is both an invitation to Arbus' first show at MoMA and a thank you note his years caring for her daughter.
