Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silver-plated satiné-finished dial, raised gold hour markers in 1941 and its subsequent sale on 29 January 1942. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe presentation box.

Fresh to the market, the present reference 1486 is believed to be one of less than 5 example of this model in pink gold with pink dial to appear in public to date.

Manufacture of reference 1486 was launched in 1940. The model was made in yellow or pink gold only; the case was designed in the attempt to render it water-resistant by using the sliding sides.
