Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificat d'Origine et de Garantie stamped by a retailer in Interlaken, Switzerland. Furthermore delivered with the Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with gilt dial in 1954 and its subsequent sale on 28 March 1955.

Fresh to the market, this reference 2509 is believed be the only third example of this model with gilt dial to appear in public to date, the rarity further enhanced by the presence of the Certificate of Origin.

Reference 2509 was launched in 1950 and fitted with the regular calibre 12'''400. Mainly available in gold, the model is distinguished by its sporty design and the water-resistant-type case with screw back.
