Cal. 287 mechanical movement, 17 jewels, silvered dial, luminous Arabic and baton numerals, outer five minute divisions and red pulsometer scale graduated for 15 pulsations, the divisions gradually increasing in size, two subsidiary dials for constant seconds, 45 minutes registers, circular water-resistant-type case, screw back, two round chronograph buttons in the band, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

According to the Archives of Universal, the present watch was manufactured in 1943.

It is one of the rare "Medico-Compax" chronograph watches to appear in public and is furthermore in very good overall condition.

Made during a short period of time in the mid-1940s, the model was specifically created for medical staff, allowing a physician to take a fast and accurate reading of a patients pulse.
