A SUPERB SUITE OF RUBY AND DIAMOND JEWELLERY, BY JAMES W. CURRENS FOR FAIDEE
Comprising a necklace, set with twenty-eight oval-shaped rubies weighing from approximately 5.64 to 1.06 carats, designed as a series of flowerheads set to the centre with an oval-shaped ruby within an oval-shaped diamond surround, alternating with oval-shaped rubies; and a pair of matching ear pendants, set with eight oval-shaped rubies weighing approximately 10.83 carats total, mounted in platinum and 18k yellow gold, necklace 38.0 cm long, ear pendants 5.0 cm long, in Faidee case

Accompanied by report no. 73104 dated 11 March 2014 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the rubies weighing approximately 65.00 carats total are of Burmese (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating and the colour of some of these rubies may also be called 'pigeon's blood red' in the trade; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the rubies possess extraordinary characteristics and merits special mention and appreciation. The rubies show a highly matching colour and very outstanding quality. The small inclusions found by microscopic inspection are the hallmarks of rubies from the reputed ruby mines in the green hills of Mogok and Mong Hsu. Their attractive and saturated red colour - poetically also referred to as "pigeon's blood red " for some of these rubies - is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements in these gemstones, characteristics for the finest rubies from Burma (Myanmar). Assembling a matching selection of natural rubies from Burma of this quality is very difficult and rare
Also accompanied by two reports no. 13086078/1 to 28 and 13086079/1 to 8 dated 26 August 2013 from the Gübelin Gemmological Laboratory stating that the rubies weighing 65.07 carats total are of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating and the colour variety of some of the rubies may also be called "pigeon's blood red" in the trade; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the combination of rarity, quality and beauty of these gemstones renders this set an exceptional item of jewellery
Also accompanied by report no. 7152672379 dated 14 August 2013 from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the rubies weighing 65.07 carats total are of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating and the color appearance of these stones is described in the trade as "pigeon's blood"; also accompanied by a monograph and letter stating that the rubies having a total weight of 65.07 carat are a wonderful example of the classic Pigeon's Blood colour. The intensity of red color combined with the exquisite design gives these gems a sensation that is a truly fitting subject for detailed documentation (3)
