After the Mask, Hospital, and Meat series, Zheng Fanzhi began a new series call chaotic strokes series, which was a stylistic breakthrough for the artist. Meandering and entangling, these rapid brushstrokes and lines are a reflection of his ten years of life in the fast paced metropolis like Beijing, that was contradictory, chaotic, passionate and violent. In the work Andy Warhol (Lot 526), Zeng depicts the iconic Pop artist with his hand holding up his head in deep thought, while staring straight at the spectators.
