Lot Essay

The Omega Speemaster HB-SIA GMT Chronograph honors the Solar Impulse project, the aim of which was to fly around the globe powered only by energy from the sun. In 2010, the HB_SIA prototype plane flew through the night powered only by the sun's energy collected in the solar cells the day before - a major first step in the project's goal. The project's first attempt to fly around the world is tentatively set for 2015.
