Lot Essay

Accompanied by an F.P. Journe Certificate letter dated August 25, 2012, stating that the present watch is one of a limited series of 99 watches created to commemorate the participation of Jean Alesi in the Indianapolis 500-mile race. The certificate notes that the present watch was produced without logos - other examples of this watch may feature the Indianapolis 500 logo. Further accompanied by an F.P. Journe Octa Sport presentation box, product literature and DVD, and outer packaging.

The Octa Sport is the second model of F.P. Journe's Sport series, and emphasizes the maker's fondness for aluminum and it's lightweight properties. F.P. Journe used an aluminum alloy that is more commonly used in aeronautics, making the watch more scratch resistant, anti-corrosive, and anti-allergic.
