Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 2005 and its subsequent sale on May 13th of the same year. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated May of 2005, Patek Philippe wooden presentation box, leather folder, product literature, and outer packaging.

Reference 5070 was the first chronograph-only reference produced by Patek Philippe since the reference 1463 was discontinued in the late 1960's. It was introduced in 1998 in yellow gold only, then beginning in 2001 in white gold, in 2003 pink gold and since 2008 it has only been produced in platinum. It is thought that for each version color that production ceased after reaching 1000 pieces.

With a case diameter of 42 millimeters, it is one of the largest watches that Patek Philippe produces.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
