Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1958 and its subsequent sale on December 15th of the same year.

Patek Philippe produced only a few references with enamel dials, the most well known being the celebrated reference 2526. These particular watches are very costly to manufacture and sensitive to handling, as the enamel is very fragile. In addition to the reference 2526, the references 3428 and 2577 were produced with plain enamel dials.

Reference 2577 is one of the rarest models to be produced, launching in 1958, and possibly was only made in a "special order" status. The present watch is one of five known examples to have come to the market, two of which were cased in pink gold.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
