Lot Essay

‘I wanted to escape from the delimination of skin (whether the exclusive volumes of lead bodycases or the solid volumes of the bodyforms) and acknowledge the body as a place of transformation… As this work progressed the minimum member rule arose: to use the least amount of material necessary to convey the attitude of the body (while still allowing it to stand). The work achieved tension.’
(A. Gormley quoted at www.antonygormley.com).
