Lot Essay

The eldest daughter of Muriel Johnson “Honey” Berlin and Richard E. Berlin, Brigid Berlin, was better known under her nom de plume, Brigid Polk. A name afforded to her due to her habit of giving out ‘pokes’, which were injections of Vitamin B and amphetamines. She met Andy Warhol in 1964 where she became an important figure in his inner circle.
