TWO MEISSEN BALUSTER HEXAGONAL GILT-METAL MOUNTED TEACADDIES
CIRCA 1725-30, THE MOUNTS 19TH CENTURY, THE CHINOISERIE TEACADDY WITH GILDER'S 9Z. TO UNDERSIDE, THE SECOND WITH BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, GILDER'S 68. AND BLACK INK 318 INVENTORY NUMBER TO UNDERSIDE
The first probably painted by P.E. Schindler with Oriental figures and mythical beasts before terracing and rockwork in landscape panels, the second with merchants in harbour scenes and in boats, each within gilt ribs, mounted with gilt-metal acorn finials and footrims (porcelain covers lacking, the chinoiserie example with rubbing to gilt ribs, the other with chipping to footrim and wear to gilding)
