A LARGE GROUP OF INDIAN SILVER
LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Comprising:- a slender, tapering jug profusely chased with birds amidst scrolling foliage, cobra handle, probably Cutch, circa 1890; a rice bowl chased with crowned figures supporting crowns in each hand, arched reserves of wild animals , fruit and foliage all below a band of fish, base chased with elephant; a pair of bowls chased with scrolling foliage; a bowl chased with birds and wild animals amidst palm trees and vegetation; a similarly chased pot incorporating a tiger hunt on elephants; a cigarette box profusely chased with flowers, cover chased with two bands of winged half-human, half-fish figures; six various small chased bowls; a small dish; six condiments; a cream jug and sugar bowl of sloping circular form; and a relief-chased cream jug, probably Madras, circa 1880, handle formed as child climbing snake, dragon spout and Hindu deities to sides
Jug 13 in. high (33 cm.); largest bowl 9 ½ in. diameter (24 cm.), 6 ¾ in. high (17 cm.)
