Only four bronze casts of this subject are known today, two of which were cast by the Montagutelli Foundry between 1912 and 1913 (including the present lot). Two of the four casts are presently housed in public collections, in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos-Aires.

This work will be included in the forthcoming Auguste Rodin catalogue critique de l'oeuvre sculpté currently being prepared by the Comité Auguste Rodin at Galerie Brame et Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2014-4413B.

Only four bronze casts of this subject are known today, two of which were cast by the Montagutelli Foundry between 1912 and 1913 (including the present lot). Two of the four casts are presently housed in public collections, in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos-Aires.
