Lot Essay

A spectacular example of ref. 1675, this timepiece impresses not only with its wonderful condition, but especially with its "full tropical" status. Collectors nicknamed "tropical" watches that present color shifting, usually toward brown, of black or white components. Most notably, the tropicalization process happens on the dial, but it is known to occur on the bezel as well. This watch is incredibly rare and appealing because both its dial and its bezel are tropical. The dial is now a rich dark chocolate color, absolutely even throughout the entire surface. The bezel shifted toward a more reddish brown hue, also in this case absolutely even, as if the dial was born like this. The final result on the watch is a vintage vibe of immense charm and appeal.
