Lot Essay

“I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want to own.”

Whilst working on this portfolio Warhol created a series of different color versions of each image, before selecting one to be printed in an edition of 200. These initial 'trial proofs' were preserved and released as a formal component of the edition. Each print in this portfolio is unique.
