Lot Essay

This painting comes directly from a student of Zhao Shao'ang, who learnt Chinese traditional painting from Zhao in her teenage years. She was a member of the Advisory Council at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco for the Zhao Shao-ang Collection and the exhibition "The Charming Cicada Studio. Masterworks by Zhao Shao-ang" in the spring of 1997.
